| Indication [when to use] | Mild Sprains, Meniscal Tears, Early OA changes, Medial & Lateral Collateral Ligament Sprains. |
| How it works | Reduces medial/lateral instability, AP shift and patella translation. |
| Does it work | The most important feature is the bi-centric hinge in the lateral stays. They claim that it works just like a real knee’s geometry. That is a big claim, but it comes close which reduces riding up of the brace, a problem common with pin-hinge types of brace. I like these as the front closer makes it easy to apply, whatever the leg shape. (It accommodates those cone-shaped thighs that are so difficult to fit). The material is thin yet supports well and doesn’t wrinkle up behind the knee. Heat build up is minimal and so sweating is not much of an issue. |
| THM [therapist] verdict | Not cheap, but robust and doesn’t get too hot. |
| THM [user] verdict | I personally cycle and swim with one of these on with no discomfort. THM |
