| Description | |
|---|---|
| Indication [when to use] | Patella tendonitis, (Jumpers Knee), Osgood Schlatter’s Disease |
| How it works | By mechanically reducing pressure on the patella tendon, the tendon origin and insertion can ‘rest’ and heal. |
| Does it work | Yes - I’ve prescribed this device for 20 years and it is the easiest to fit and most comfortable on the market. The fastening is simple velcro, no fiddly straps or buckles. Most others are too wide in my opinion and cause uncomfortable abrasion in the back of the knee, ruck up or loosen. If any product is uncomfy, the patient won’t use it, which makes any device worse than useless. |
| THM [therapist] verdict | The best you can get. Most patients buy more than one once they have tried them. |
| Cost | Typically £19.99 |
| Handedness | Universal. Can be used on either Knee |
| Other comments | Mueller also make a ‘Dual Action Knee Strap for ITB Syndrome - I have no experience with this so any comments are welcome. |
